Tuesday August 13 Day 2

Today the work team continued making progress in Inez's house repairing drywall joints, installing paneling, enclosing a door entry way and removing baseboards in another room. Cynthia was working at the food pantry today boxing food for distribution and sorting cards for the thrift shop. Please know that part of our mission is to speak with the people we are assisting about God.  Inez is a pleasant woman and is most appreciative of the assistance that we are providing to her.  She related that her friends request her to pray for them.  One of the team members related to her that God has a purpose for each of us and that appears to be His purpose for her.

Although some of our team members have seen each other and worked together for a day here and there in the past, this trip is a special one.  Usually when a person sees someone else, the talk is superficial.  An example is:  Hi.  How are you?  The reply:  Hi.  I'm fine.  How are you?  Nice weather we are having.  We all have busy lives, and this is fine, but it doesn't really mean much.  This trip is taking us out of our "comfort zone." We are getting to know each other in a deeper spiritual level, which is great!  We are enjoying each other's company and highly recommend something like this to others.  So, if you get the opportunity, try a mission trip to see what you can do through God who will strengthen you.

 Checking out the garden.
